Threshold
“Standing at the edge of change, rooted in hope.”
24" x 32"
Acrylic on Canvas
"I painted Threshold just before the world shut down in 2020. I had recently been accepted into my Master’s degree and was standing at the edge of a new chapter, full of possibility, ambition, and optimism. Unlike much of my work, this landscape wasn’t based on a reference photo. It emerged entirely from imagination, built from instinct, memory, and feeling.
The flowering tree grows from a richly textured hillside toward a luminous horizon, a symbol of growth, curiosity, and the excitement of stepping into the unknown. Looking back, the painting feels almost prophetic. It captures a moment when the future seemed wide open, just before the world changed in ways none of us could have anticipated.
For me, this work remains a reminder of hope, resilience, and the belief that new beginnings are worth embracing, even when we can’t yet see what lies ahead."
