Unruly
“A reminder that what burns can also make space to bloom.”
24" x 24"
Acrylic on Wood
"I grew up very close to my grandmother, and one of her greatest fears was fire. She worried constantly about stoves left on, candles forgotten, and the possibility of everything being lost in an instant. Somehow, that fear sparked the opposite response in me. Instead of avoiding fire, I became fascinated by it—its beauty, power, and unpredictability.
In Unruly, flowers and flames become intertwined. Fire can destroy, but it also clears the way for renewal and growth. The painting explores those moments in life when everything feels out of control, while holding onto the belief that transformation is possible. What appears destructive can also be the beginning of something new."
